1. I’ve seen this kind of argument before; I didn’t buy it then and I don’t buy it now. If there were any truth in this speculation, believe me that the Bush White House would have ballyhood it for all it was worth. They didn’t because they knew it was bogus special pleading. Bush’s war was a mistake to the tune of 100%, not the 50% this article seems to prefer.

   Forget all this Hitchenesque “the weapons are buried under the mosques” claptrap.

   Look at Colin Powell’s presentation to the UN – lies from start to finish. Look at the “informant” Curveball – a lying so-and-so.

   The fact is that the Republicans came to power “to stick it to the Russians” , didn’t give a toss about OBL then exploited 9/11 to implement their post-marxist garbage about taking over the Middle East.
