In Iran, the venerable network of qanats is insufficient to meet Iran’s water needs. Climate change is desertifying Iran.

The Arabs keep having children, heedless of the state of their aquifers, regarding the rise in population as a source of power, as some of that surplus can be off-loaded onto Europe and North America, where outposts of Islam, beachheads, have been established.

The sole exception to the generally dismal picture of water supplies  is in Israel, due not to natural resources but to the application of intelligence.

Iran’s lakes are drying up. All over the Muslim Middle East, the aquifers are being emptied and water-supplies contaminated — as in Gaza — by sewage. There is mismanagement, misuse, and, above all, just too many people. There is no mystery about this. Iraq had a population of 3 million in 1920; now it has 32 million. Egypt in 1950 had 20 million people; now it has 82 million and is headed toward 90 million in just a few years.The population rise  in the Arabian peninsula and the Maghreb is of the same order.

And while Arab states have, since 1920, seen their populations rise by 1000%, the native populations of the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and other European states have remained steady. While the Musliim Arabs have families of six, eight, ten, twelve children apiece, in Europe the natives are not reproducing themselves even to maintain their current populations (the  arrival of millions of Muslims, and the terrific economic and social pressure they put on the natives makees those natives even more uncertain about having chiildren).
