Do Terrorist Attacks Affect Your Choice Of Tourist Destination?

One Response

  1. The other day, I was reading through the Comments to the Daily Mail’s article about the jihad attack in the museum in Tunisia. There were a very great many. 7 pages of them. And a constant theme was that people were deciding that holidaying in Muslim-dominated countries was just not. worth. doing. They were advising others to reconsider holidays in Turkey, or anywhere else in the dar al Islam. Some were making predictions about when they thought Turkey would “Go Jihad” – one person opined that he gave it “three years”. And others, grimly, were reminding people of the jihad attacks in London, and in Paris, and making the point that the fifth column was among us, and not only to be found in places like Tunisia, or Egypt (and Luxor was remembered, in connection with Egypt). Joe Public, if that selection of the vox populi is any indication, is much, much smarter and better informed than his supposed leaders.
