Facebook Attacks Again And Bans Me

Facebook is not a place for telling the truth. Facebook is too easily gamed by haters of truth, freedom and anyone who is honest about Islam. I’ve just received a three-day posting ban for this:

I’m sorry the French have to go through this again. There is nothing you did to deserve death at the hands of Islamic Jihad again. The entire culpability lies with a political ideology that orders its followers to “fight all men until they say there is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet”. Having encouraged Israel to give in to and make concessions to Islamic terror for half a century, however, the French state is part of a world wide problem that has prevented the defeat of this global monster.

Jihad is not just fought with knives, guns and bombs: it’s fought in the mind. Banning any critical mention of Islam or Mohammed is an act of “proleptic dhimmitude”: forcing non-muslims to submit to the blasphemy laws of Islam in advance of actually being conquered and living under an Islamic state. Banning my expression of solidarity with those slaughtered by a Muslim terrorist in Nice is a submission to Islam.

Ironically today I was just noticing this tweet from NGO Monitor’s Gerald Steinberg about France:

In recent days Israellycool contributor Ryan Bellerose has also been banned and Jonathan Spyer, a renowned academic and journalist of the highest integrity, had his entire account summarily terminated. Many of my Facebook friends have also been gagged and it seems to be happening with increasing frequency.

Jonathan Spyer’s case is particularly galling:

Recently my Facebook profile, on which I was connected to around 5000 people, was closed down by Facebook. This has had some impact on my ability to do my job as a researcher and journalist, tho I have since managed to repair much of the damage. However, the process by which the profile was destroyed is interesting and may be informative regarding the practices of Facebook with regard to the issue of freedom of expression on the site.

The last posting which I made on my profile related to recent events in Europe.  I wrote that I considered the wave of terror attacks in Germany and France to indicate that a ‘low level Islamist insurgency’ was now taking place in those countries. A few hours after placing this posting, my account was ‘disabled.’

I was introduced to Jonathan soon after I first made Aliyah by the much missed Barry Rubin. When Barry passed away it was Jonathan that stepped into his shoes at the IDC in Herzliyah and he now runs the department named in honour of Barry! He is a fluent Arabic speaker and has travelled widely across the region. To accuse him of “violating community standards” is (in my opinion) defamatory.

They’ve now reinstated his original account but only after a pretty significant campaign.

The list of those being persecuted because Facebook makes it so easy for gangs of Jihadist, Regressive Leftists and whoever else to get things taken down by just amassing gangs of clickers. Facebook has never sanctioned those making false reports, it seems, and even when a human does review posts, they seem heavily biased toward taking down anything critical of Islam, no matter how clear the distinction is between criticisms of the ideas and the ideology and not criticism of all Muslims.

Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller are frequently hit. A hugely worrying problem is an ongoing attack on Arabic speaking atheists. My personal belief is that if there is any hope to dealing with the problems inherent in Islamic supremacism, it lies with showing Muslims just what their faith contains and leading them away. Presenting information in Arabic is very important. There’s a Change.org petition to support “Stop deleting Arab atheist and secularist groups and pages”. Douglas Murray wrote about Facebook’s War on Freedom of Speech at Gatestone.

The big question is, when we know Zuckerberg was open to taking orders from Angela Merkel in German to suppress free speech about “refugees” in Europe, is there any will at Facebook to fix this? I’m not sure.
