A woman was also among those who died in the attack, which is the bloodiest since the 7/7 London bombings in 2005 when 56 people were killed. Three other police officers were also injured during the carnage.

The Met’s acting deputy commissioner and head of counter terrorism Mark Rowley confirmed on Wednesday evening that five people were killed, including the police officer and his attacker.

He said police were treating the attack as Islamist-related terrorism.

Mr Rowley said that Islamist-related terrorism is the assumption behind the attack. He said that police believed they knew the identity of the attacker, but he did not give details.

He said that Britain’s Muslim communities “will feel vulnerable at this time, given the past actions of right-wing extremists”. I don’t care a fig about the feelings of the Muslim communities any more. They are the sea in which the jihadists swim.

  1. They are the sea in which the jihadists swim.

Well said, EW. This is an important point that isn't made often enough.

  2. "He said that Britain's Muslim communities "will feel vulnerable at this time, given the past actions of right-wing extremists"."

What 'actions of right-wing extremists"???  Have any Britons anywhere in Britain set off bombs amongst crowds of Muslims? Run amok stabbing Muslims in the street? Run a Muslim down with a car and then chopped off his head with an axe? Are there dozens of Infidel British 'grooming' gangs specifically targeting little underaged hijabettes?  Answer: NONE.

This man is a blithering idiot.  NOTHING that any non-Islamic Briton has done to any Muslim in Britain comes anywhere near what Muslims have done – and also what Muslims have been caught plotting to do, or have attempted to do but luckily failed in the attempt – to non-Muslims in Britain.
