That’s one estimate of the crowd. I’m 71, a Londoner all my life and the only thing I can compare it too is elderly relatives memories of VE night.
I was on Westminster Bridge at 1.15 in good time to see the march arrive, I saw people, more people. They filled Whitehall, they filled the square. They kept on coming.
i went for a walk, I talked to people, I decided to walk along the Embankment parallel to Whitehall.
At 3pm this was the march still pouring over Westminster Bridge.
