“Take It From Me, It’s More Dangerous Than Pearl Harbor

by Reg Green

“Never have I felt such a threat to our democracy,” says filmmaker (and abdicated historian) Ken Burns, citing the Civil War as another time of crisis but a less threatening one than mid-term 2022. “I’m so damn EXCITED I can hardly type this message to you,” adds James Carville, wetting his pants. “My former boss, President Bill Clinton, is on the ground in Nevada TODAY ” Wow!

Vice-President Kamala Harris began one grovelling email,  “I’m personally asking you…” as if anyone could think that she, and not some impersonal electronic system, was regurgitating passages from “How To Squeeze The Suckers Till The Pips Squeak.”

And all of them are holding out threadbare hats for whatever change you’ve got in your pocket so that a less presentable co-squeezer can add you to the Simpletons Scroll for a bigger contribution next time.

With the public trough already in flood, is it any wonder no one takes at face value anything most of them (and their Republican opponents) say when they are stumping for re-election, which they do from the day they are elected?
