The Great Mosque Of Algiers

Here.

Ahmed Bouteflika, the achieving ruler of, and chief of the corrupt ruling clique in, Algeria, the boss of all bosses, wanted to leave a legacy, and at the same time to placate those called “Islamists” — the name given to all those who, knowing their Qur’an and Sunnah, take their beliefs most to heart.

So he contracted with a Chinese firm — you don’t think anything gets done in Arab countries by the Arabs, do you?– to build, for more than a billion dollars, a giant mosque, with the tallest tower in Africa. The money might have been spent on libraries, and hospitals, and universities, something that might amerliorate, if not now then in the future, the miserable condition of man in Algeria. Instead, this giant mosque will promote Islam, the very thing that explains the many failures, political, economic, social, intellectual, and moral, of Muslim states and societies.

The  next time Algeria comes hat in hand for  Western aid, none should be given. Let  them eat their one-billion-dollar mosque.
