Three men charged with child sex offences spanning years in Leeds and Barrow

From Leeds Live,  North West Mail and the BBC

. Three brothers have been charged with carrying out a number sexual assaults on children.

Some of the alleged offences, including five counts of rape of a child under the age of 13, were uncovered during an investigation into allegations linked to a Beeston mosque.

The Leeds charges relate to alleged offences dating between 1996 and 2008. Further alleged offences happened in Barrow, Cumbria, between 2008 and 2010. Now this could be interesting. I suspect reading between the lines that the victims in this case were Muslim children, possibly boys AND girls, and not the white working class girls of the Easy Meat cases. But Barrow is where a young English girl remains in custody (so far as I can find out)  on charges of perjury and perverting the course of justice for her assertion about a rape/sex slavery grooming gang of Muslim men operating in the town. Police deny any such thing exists, and the local Asian men who run the food takeaway shops and taxi firms claim they live in fear of reprisals. What these arrests will throw up could be instructive.  Local people are taking notice and joining dots.

Shah Joman Miah, 34, of Warmsworth Road in Doncaster, as well as Leeds men of no fixed abodes, Shaha Amran Miah, 44, and Shaha Alman Miah, 43, were charged following a joint investigation by West Yorkshire Police and Cumbria Police.

Shaha Amran Miah, 44, of no fixed abode, who, according to police was known to use the name ‘Jai’. He is charged with rape, sexual assault, kidnap and two counts of witness intimidation in the Barrow area. In the Leeds area he is also charged with six counts of indecent assault and six counts of gross indecency with a child.

Shaha Alman Miah, 43, also of no fixed abode, was known to use the name ‘Ali,’ according to detectives. He was charged with two counts of sexual activity with a child aged under 16 in Barrow.

And Shah Joman Miah, of Warmsworth Road in Doncaster, was known to use the name ‘Saj’ or ‘Sarj’, police have said. He was charged with five counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16, two counts of false imprisonment and one count of sexual assault in the Barrow area.

The 34-year-old is also charged with a string of offences that are alleged to have taken place in Leeds. These include five counts of rape of a child under the age of 13, two counts of indecent assault, four counts of gross indecency with a child under the age of 14 and two counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16. He also faces other charges of two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and five counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.

They will appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 11.
