‘We need perspective’ Tommy Robinson says radical Islam is bigger threat than neo-Nazism

From the Express

HARDLINE Islam is a bigger threat to the UK than neo-Nazi groups, according to former English Defence League (EDL) leader Tommy Robinson.

The activist insisted the “rise of the far-right” needed to be put into perspective with British neo-Nazi movement National Action due to become the first far-right group to be banned under terrorism laws in the UK.

Speaking on talkRADIO, Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, compared the “100 young Nazi idiots” with Muslims under surveillance under anti-terror laws.

He said: “In England we’ve got 60million people. Out of 50m people, who are non-Muslim, we’ve got about roughly 100 young Nazi idiots. Out of three to four million Muslims, we’ve got 4,000 [Muslims on] 24-hour-a-day seven-days-a-week counter-terror watch, because they’re planning terrorism. That costs us £9billion-a-year.”

“When we’re talking about the rise of the far-right I do think it needs to be put into perspective,” he said.

“We’ve seen six Muslims arrested this morning on terrorism offences, we’ve seen over 100 terror plots against the UK, we’ve seen 10 just last year, so we do need to put this group [National Action] into perspective.”

Robinson slammed politicians for “labelling” those criticising Islam.

He said: “What the media have done, what politicians have done, is they’ve labeled anybody that dares to talk [about] any negative aspects [of Islam] at the same level as these groups, which is completely wrong. The EDL was always categorised by the police as centre, not left or right, but that didn’t help us because the media was telling everyone this is a Nazi organisation.”

The EDL is not ‘far right’; its just not far wrong!
