Trump’s Gift

by Janet Charlesworth

I feel the events in Washington last week handed the “Left” and the globalist corporate elites a Gift which we can anticipate they will use to the utmost for some time to come.  It’s a Gift that will overshadow all the evidence gathered so far of fraud in the 2020 election (see the Navarro Reports), and it will overshadow any objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the economic and foreign policies Trump instigated.  It will legitimize the use of the label “deplorables” for all those who vote Republican, and devalue and delegitimize any and all resistance to globalization, political correctness and “Woke” ideology.

It was a mega mega mistake.

When Trump finally leaves the White House, I expect the whole World will breathe a sigh of relief, and then get back on the globalist agenda with renewed commitment.

Trump’s persona, and presentation of himself, is no doubt what is required for a TV show, but its not what we want for a statesman, especially one as important as the President of the United States.

What is important about Trump is that he saw the distress and alienation being felt by so many Americans who experienced the politicians in Washington as being subject to the impositions of the Left globalist agenda, which they felt as uncaring of them, their jobs, their families, their homes, and their communities. Trump promised to change that, and it was on that platform that he was elected – and he did what he promised he would do, and he did change that. That’s the reality that those who are coming into power now need to take into consideration.  Notwithstanding all the allegations of fraud around the 2020 Election, its clear that at least 74 million Americans voted for Trump.

For all of us who:

are for democracy, nation states and elected representatives, with limited terms of office, and are against totalitarianism;

are for free trade, and against China buying up western economies or a country’s economy and its people being in the control of the profit agendas of corporate globalist elites;

are for peace in the world, and are dismayed to see the corruption in the UN Assembly;

are for free speech, and against political correctness and the “cancel culture”;

are for freedom of religion, and against fundamentalist terrorists;

are for respect for a country’s borders and immigration policies, and against illegal incursions of same;

the list could go on and on – but just from the above, if that’s what we are for, we are likely to have voted Conservative, or Republican.  If we did, I feel we are in for a rough ride now. The Left will want to continue to categorize anyone with views that don’t accord with their own as unfit for consideration in “decent” society.  That’s something they’ve been doing for some time, but on an insecure and perhaps fearful basis in view of the evident support for Trump – which fear was perhaps manifest in the unrelenting hate poured out 24/7 from the MSM.  Now they have overwhelming righteousness on their side – handed to them by Trump.  What happened in Washington last week will be forever portrayed as Trump trying to destroy democracy and instigate mob rule in storming the Capitol in an effort to overthrow the Republic and install himself as a Dictator.

I’ll be keeping my head even further down now, and likely for some time to come.

  1. It’s a shame that the author didn’t run this in huffpo, cnn, msnbc, npr, or new york times. It’s an excellent and interesting article except for the whole thing which is awful. Nice work Janet, your article is one of the worst articles in this journal, ever.

  2. Since Trump was the only leader in the US standing up to and opposing the globalist agenda how does the author figure the following?

    “When Trump finally leaves the White House, I expect the whole World will breathe a sigh of relief, and then get back on the globalist agenda with renewed commitment.

    Trump’s persona, and presentation of himself, is no doubt what is required for a TV show, but its not what we want for a statesman, especially one as important as the President of the United States.”

    Trump’s persona is perfectly fine. He says what’s on his mind and doesn’t filter the truth with political mumbo-jumbo and two-faced lies. There is nothing unstatesmanlike about Trump; was he unstatesmanlike when he moved the US embassy to Jerusalem as had been promised for decades; was he unstatesmanlike when he brokered multiple peace deals in the middle east that more traditional “presidential” types were unable to do; was he unstatesmanlike when he affirmed American sovereignty by closing our southern border to illegal immigration invasion; was he unstatesmanlike when he tried to negotiate with and avoid a war with North Korea-one that the previous president suggested was inevitable; was he unstatesmanlike when he called out our “allies” for ripping the country off, and our rivals for doing even worse?

    The author does not seem to have a full understanding of Trump or what is happening in this country. Trump was the only leader opposing what is a stolen election and the globalist, far left agenda of the opposition. The issue for the author is Trump’s persona rather than the fact that the election was stolen from him and 80 million voters, that the media has been feeding us lies every day and night for years, and that Trump called out the lies and the liars, and railed against being robbed by a rigged system? The issue for the author is not what he accomplished or could continue to accomplish for this country but his persona, better seen on a “TV show?”

    Because the author does not understand what is going on, this is a poor article and belongs on huffpo and not in this magazine.

  3. JC lists under “For all of us who …” what seems practically all Americans believed they were voting for in their candidates. The traitorous fraud perpetrated by political power-mongers, of the Democratic and Republican Parties is obvious to the overall public. Those of the general public justifying their support of the fraud by their hate of Trump will be the greatest losers. They have salved their hot hatred but lost their self-respect. They will not be able to look their children in the eye without a sense of sorrow for the lie they must now live with. The power mongers will sleep uneasily as they learn that God is not mocked by those who deliberately cheat for their own benefit and detriment of others. Thus the ‘Gift’ will have the effect of a poisoned pill as a lifetime of shame. /// The out-of-control protest will be seen as the first salvo in a continuing protest against a diabolical cabal. Fool us once, shame on you. ‘Never Again’ has taken on new meaning. ///. The cheats will get the karma-uppance they have earned. /// The sages of the courts, SCOTUS and others, as well as Pence, will bear the shame of cowardice. Their reluctance in the face of a crucial decision to be made in favor of honest citizens, We The People, will not be forgotten. Standing, indeed. Foetal position preferred for diapering embossed with Scarlet Letters.

  4. Awful article and just plain bad writing. You start this off with, “I feel . . .” You feel or do you think? Awful. This election was between freedom and tyranny. Period. Can we have at least one magazine/blog outlet that doesn’t find a reason to trash Trump? One?

  5. It appears to me that Janet Charlesworth’s feeling Is a confirmation of her intellectually expressed opinion. In my experience, digested and integrated across left and right cerebral hemispheres, feelings prioritize actions based in intellectual evaluations. Those evaluations are dominated by our feelings about the hierarchy, or priority, of our values. Check your gut feelings for whether you really believe what you’re saying, planning, or doing. Trump did the best he knew how, for the love of country. God might have done what had to be done, in a wiser way. Did God guide Trump; ask God and after S/He/It replies, ask whether God,s lying? ///. Rebecca runs a hot eat-in kitchen. If you can’t take the heat, eat out on the patio where only bland bologna is served. Blessings.

  6. I agree with Beale and I wonder why here, of all places, we have read this kind of Trash. Trump has been the best president in my lifetime and it’s unlikely anyone will surpass him over the next few decades. He’s the last president in the sense he was the last fairly elected president and the last president who shared the ideals of the Founders. He was also correct when he stated (paraphrased)if we didn’t defeat the fraud and stop the steal, were never have another GOP president. For fifteenth reasons, I’m fine with that because the GOP has shown its true colors and proven themselves to be gutless and corrupt.

    This article should have been submitted to one of these nevertrump sites, not here. Although maybe the author did submit it there but it was rejected?

    She’s ignored all Trump’s successes which Beale clearly spells out in his comments. Trump exposed the swamp. Nobody knew what he/we were up against.

    Lastly, the author’s comments he wasn’t statesman is laughable. Thankfully, Beale responded perfectly.

    We’d all be better served if articles like this stayed in other outlets.

  7. It seems to me that my critics have reacted in defensive anger at my criticism of Trump and his participation in the events which built up into what took place in Washington last week. A careful reading however should reveal that I have supported Trump in his policies, if not in his person, and am dismayed at his actions in Washington, and the damage that will be done and is being done as a result to the legitimacy of his policies, to the Conservative point of view generally, and to any legacy Trump could have hoped to leave. I appreciate that he, and millions of Americans, believe that the election was stolen, but the response to that is surely not an assault on the Capitol.

  8. I appreciate that there could well be evidence that the events on January 6th were orchestrated by far left groups taking advantage of what Trump and his supporters had assumed would be a “peaceful demonstration”. Surely though, in the polarized and antagonistic political climate of the day, to make the assumption that there would be no such incursions was to invite the disaster and its consequences, consequences which we will all now be living with for some time to come.

  9. The comments suggesting that “Trump’s Gift” be “de-platformed”, or “cancelled” (on NER) on the grounds of a felt ideological difference which challenges assumptions – isn’t that right out of the “Left” playbook?
